About Us Aldersgate is a place where God is active through the community of staff, volunteers, campers, guests, and through the natural sacred space we cherish. Our nature trail travels throughout the 112 timbered acres of camp, past two outpost sites, Sunrise Chapel, McMullen Chapel, the tree climbing area, the archery range, the frog pond, and the mudslide. We also offer seven RV/tent pads with electrical and water hook-ups (near a showerhouse). Conveniently located near our lodges are a sand volleyball court, a basketball/volleyball court, a picnic shelter, fire rings, and chapel areas. Our horse pasture is available by arrangement. Over the next several years, we hope to move the horse area to 75 acres purchased in 2006 . There are many opportunities to experience God on our 188 total acres! Aldersgate is located just west of the Hwy 34/Hwy 71 junction and an hour from Maryville, MO and Council Bluffs, IA. We neighbor Viking State Park, which offers a variety of waterfront activities and services. We are accredited by the American Camp Association and sponsored by the Iowa Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. We are open to individuals of all ages, races, national origins, sexual orientations, and religious backgrounds.
