Top Ten Ways to Get Involved in UMC Camping

  • 10. Schedule a retreat, family reunion, church outing, or corporate retreat at your UMC campsite.

  • 9. Encourage youth to apply for summer staff and junior staff positions.

  • 8. Visit our website at www.iaumc.org and click on the link to your local campsite to check out up-to-date happenings.

  • 7. Promote the camping program in your local church.

  • 6. Contribute financially to campsite development funds.

  • 5. Volunteer of your time and talents to help around the campsites. There are always fix-it projects to be done, lawns to be mowed, and floors to be swept!

  • 4. Organize a fund-raiser to help send kids to camp.

  • 3. Tell your friends and neighbors about camp. Give them copies of the camping catalog and brochures (your local UM church has them for free, and we'd be happy to send you some, too) so they can pick out an event to attend, too!

  • 2. Sponsor a local child to attend camp with a campership.

  • And the number one way to get involved in UMC camping...(drum role)

  • 1. Go to camp!
